Beautifully-made Panama hats and a shop dedicated to its craft. We discovered this jewel driving from Isla Holbox to Chable Yucatan in the old city of Valladolid. On this unassuming and immaculately pretty “Bond Street”, individual and local designers sell bags, clothing, hats…The stores are in converted houses and their chic style is completely unexpected and a step ahead. This is what we dream our high streets were like…cobbled and colourful, individual and unique.
WHY?
Valladolid is a natural stop on the way to Chable Yucatan from Riviera Maya or Isla Holbox. It’s a colourful, colonial city with a small-town feel. It’s unexpected and charming and is a necessary stop on anyone’s Mexican road trip. Especially if you are seeking the most beautiful Mexican and locally- made products and fashion in the country. We were wowed by the creativity here.
