TEQUILA CHABLE, MEXICO

Tequila. Mexico isn’t Mexico without tequila and we have tried one or two (in the name of research). A Mexican friend told us a shot of tequilla should be drunk sip for sip with a shot of tomato juice. But we then found one tequila that doesn’t need a partner. We half wish we had never discovered it. It has become an obsession we can’t necessarily afford and we know better just doesn’t exist (although we are open to suggestions!). Chable Yucatan has 3,600 different bottles, and 3,175 are exhibited at Ixi’im Restaurant (named 12th best restaurant in the world). We ask the curator of Chable Yucatan’s insane collection of tequila for his advice.

WHY?

Tequila is good for you! It helps with weight loss due to the agavins. Many of the calories pass through the system instead of being absorbed. It stimulates metabolism and helps dissolve fat. And best of all, a good tequila won’t give you a hangover (unless you drink too much of it). The word on the street is that tequila will be in limited supply in not so long so invest while you can.
